Canadian BlackJack Tournaments

Blackjack tournament consists of typically several rounds of play, with tables of 6 or so players contending against each other in every round. The game is played on a format, where only 1 or 2 players from each table will advance to the next round of play.

Each round consists of a predefined number of hands and all the players begin the round with an equal amount of chips. At the end of the round, the player or players with the highest amount of playing chips, moves to the next round. Usually, in a round there are anywhere from 15 to 30 hands. Some tournaments are played using live money chips while others use preset tournament chips with no cash value (More common type).

Most people who enter a blackjack tournament really want to win at the end. Sure, some people play blackjack tournaments just for the enjoyment of challenging themselves in multi-player, multi-round gaming. And other people enjoy blackjack tournaments as an alternative to the standard slot machine play of vacations spent at gaming cities. But at some level, the point for people entering blackjack tournaments is the hope that they might come out the winner at the end of the last round.

There are several steps which can be taken to practice for blackjack tournaments.

• The first is to make sure to practice the game of blackjack itself as many times as possible in the weeks leading up to the blackjack tournament in which you will be participating.
• You should also realize that blackjack tournament strategy is different from standard blackjack strategy. Consider making those game nights at your house designed to reflect the tournament play. Have multi-hand elimination rounds so that you can become adjusted to the differences in playing style that you will need to accommodate for when participating in the blackjack tournament.
• As the days get closer to the blackjack tournament, you should also practice by getting yourself familiar with the gaming environment. If you are going to be playing at a casino near your home, spend a few nights a week there to get used to the setting.
