PlayNow on Canadian Poker Network

PlayNow, the igaming site bought to the internet by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation has been reported as joining the Canadian Poker Network. This interesting turn of events was announced by the gaming servicer provider GTECH G2, the company whos software is the force behind the Canadian Poker Network.

The Canadian Poker Network is a powerful network that was only released in December; this new network has been created so up to ten thousand players can play at the tables at any one time. More interestingly it also means that players of PlayNow in British Columbia can now play at the same virtual tables as players in Quebec from Loto Quebec.

The Canadian Poker Network allows for eight different types of poker and is seen as a great advance for players in Canada as it allows for so many players from different regions playing at one time.

The President for GTECH G2 said of the move:

“The Canadian Poker Network is an excellent example of the kind of convergence of the iGaming and lottery industries that GTECH G2 was created to serve,”

“We are proud to be partnered with such innovative lotteries and look forward to enabling other lottery corporations to enter the iGaming space with confidence.”

PlayNow was launched by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation only six months ago and allows for British Columbia residents only to bet at its online casino. PlayNow has been a huge success since its launch and this latest move shows just how successful PlayNow is as it strives to deliver more for its growing number of players.

With many Canadian regions looking at developing their own online casinos to build revenues we could see more regions put their online casinos on the Canadian Poker Network further developing competition across Canada.
